CHICKEN SHAMI KEBAB RECIPE
Everyone likes Chicken shami and is very famous dish that is loved
by all age group all across Pakistan. You will definitely like this dish when
you try it with some chutney or ketchup. This dish is made from boneless
chicken, Bengal gram (Dal Chana), onion, garlic, ginger and a mixture of spices
which gives it a spicy taste that is loved by all. These kebabs are basically
fried in a pan and are also healthy for all weight gainers. Chicken shami kebab
is full of Protein and is healthy and tasty. Recipe for chicken shami kebab is
as follow:
· 750 g of boneless chicken
· ¾ cup of Bengal gram
· ¾ tablespoon of cumin seeds
· 1.5 tablespoon of ginger paste
· ¾ tablespoon carom seeds
· 1.5 tablespoon of coriander leaves
· 1.5 bay leaf
· 6 clove
· 1.5 onion
· 1.5 inch cinnamon sticks
· 1/3 cup and 2 teaspoon ghee
· 1.5 tablespoon of ginger paste
· 6 peppercorns
· 1.5 teaspoon of red chili powder
· Lettuce as required
· Salt as required
· Water as required
Preparation time:
· Cooking time: 20 minutes and 20 minutes for
preparation
· Total time: 40 minutes
Servings: 5 to 6 person
PROCEDURE
Step 1: Wash Dal
Take a bowl and add 1 cup of water in it and add
Bengal gram (Dal Chana) in it and soak it for 30 minutes. Remove water from
bowl and wash Dal Chana again and collect it in a bowl.
Step 2: Saute the Spices:
Take a cooker and put it on a flame. Add 2 tablespoon ghee in it
and cumin seeds, cinnamon stick, black peppercorns, carom seeds, bay leaf and
cook them for 2-3 minutes. After that, add Dal Chana in it and sauté for about
3-4 minutes.
Step 3: Add Boneless Chicken:
Wash the chicken in a bowl
and put it in the cooker and then add salt and red chili powder on it. Add 1
cup of water and then mix them well.
Step 4: Pressure Cooker:
Next, close the pressure cooker and cook chicken for 10 minutes
until 3 whistles and blown and all the water gets evaporate. After that, remove
the lid down and take out the water from it if there is some left in it. Again
cook it for 5 minutes with an open lid.
Step 5: Dough for Kebabs:
Take out chicken from cooker in a bowl; grind everything together
to make a thick paste. Put it then in a refrigerator for about 15-20 minutes.
Then, take a bowl and add chopped onions, garlic paste, ginger paste, coriander
leaves and mix them well. Take out the bowl from refrigerate and put that
mixture in it and mix them well to make dough.
Step 6: Make Small Kebabs:
Grease your hand with some
oil and then make small balls from dough. Flatten them a bit to give them a
shape of kebabs.
Step 7: Cook the Kebabs:
Now you need a pan, add 2 tablespoon of oil on it. Place those
kebabs on it. Cook kebab over medium flame from both sides until they get
golden brown color.
Step 8: Chicken Shami Kebabs are ready:
Your delicious Kebabs are now ready. You can also add some chutney or
ketchup. Serve them hot to enjoy it with your loved ones.
