Healthy Foods


 

Diet has played an important role in maintaining a healthy lifestyle, it has proven to be one of the key elements in being fresh and active throughout your day. A good balanced diet leads to productive and happy day.

Here are some foods that can do miracles to your health if you add them to your everyday diet:

 

1.     Vegetables: Vegetables are low calorie foods which are high in nutrients and are full of vitamins and minerals, including them to your diet will make it balanced. These diet rich vegetables will enable your body to reduce the risk of heart attack, avoids high blood pressure and keeps your mind and your body fresh. Some of the most famous, low cost and easily available vegs are

·        Spinach: it has high content of vitamin A, K, iron and magnesium.

·         Cabbage: this vegetable has proven to contain cancer solving tendency, it boosts your immunity and can even aid in weight loss

·        Carrots: these are high in vitamin A, C and potassium

·        Broccoli: They are high in Vitamin A, C

 

2.      Fruits: Fruits are nutrient rich foods. Like vegetables adding food to your diet will also result in a lot of great health benefits. Fruits also helps to prevent diabetes. These foods are easily available everywhere which includes small markets, big stores and even road side. Fruits are high in fiber which helps to prevent constipation. They also provide a wide range of health boosting antioxidants. Some of the easily available and cheap foods are:

·        Lemons are high in Vitamin c, folic acid and potassium. They have antibacterial, anticancer, and anti diabetic properties.

·        Strawberries: they reduce the risk of heart diseases. They include vitamins B-6, A and K.

·        Oranges: they are the richest source of vitamin C

 

3.     Lean Meat & Fish: These foods are rich in proteins. They provide us with a huge amount of energy to carry out our daily activities. However fatty meat can still increase the chances of heart attacks and health disadvantages, so lean meat is preferred and recommended. Lean Meat helps us to control cancer and reduces the risk of heart diseases. Studies have recommended to use lean meat 95% of the times over fatty meat. They best lean meat which can be consumed are skinless poultry and fish.

4.     Cereals/ Grains/ beans: Whole Grains are high in fiber foods. They are good source of high minerals and vitamins. They play an essential part in maintaining body weight. Experts advice to at least take one portion of grains each day. Grains that can be added in our daily diet are:

·        Whole Grains: these foods include whole wheat flour, whole wheat bread, brown rice, popcorn's, corns, sweet corns, baked beans etc

·        Refined Grains: Barn is removed from these grains which makes them refined. These foods include bread, cereals, white rice, flour, crackers etc

·        Enriched Grains: these Grains are high in vitamin B. these are the grains to which nutrients are artificially added afterwards.

 

Whole grains are the best choice among all the categories. We all should add foods like barley, rice, millet, whole wheat bread, whole wheat flour and whole wheat pastas to our diet. They are very high and major source of fiber as well.
